BEING A TEACHER AND A NEW COMER TO A MISSION By: Teacher Wilma God intends to use me in a wonderful unexpected ways, it’s been a long time journey, before I discover something…something that I can strictly say, “my true fulfillment”… my essence of being a human…to do my task…my unfolding purpose. God has a plan for all of us and I believe that this is His will, that’s why he brings me into the wonderful world of teaching. Teaching is a mission, and it’s true that if you enter into the field of teaching, you have mountains to climb and mountains to move. It is not easy to climb on a mountain. You must be careful and you have to watch every steps you make, and as a teacher, you must do the same.

 

 

Being a teacher, I’ve face a big responsibility and a special role for the children who were entrusted to our care. In school, I must be their parent, their friend, their guide and mentors. So it’s my duties and obligations to impart knowledge, developed their skills as well as their moral values and to bring them into the best of their own. To mold their minds to the things they deserve to learn and shape their hearts to accept and love what they have learned. But even how great a teacher is, will be disappointed if she lacks faith. I remember this verse in the bible, “ I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, Move from here to there and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Yes, this is absolutely true. Because based on my experience stones and thorns along the way, but they were easier to hurdle because we opened each day with prayer to Jesus. We would ask him to turn each day into a day of opportunities and service to the young pupils and to parents as well, to endow me with wisdom that come from him so I do not have to rely on my own capabilities, to sustain my strength and patience equal to the task and mission given me. And to follow his example in accepting and welcoming, taking and healing, teaching and sharing things to all my young pupils. I kept myself reminded by Jesus words, “Let the little children come to me, for they shall inherit the kingdom of god” and “whoever welcome a child, welcomes me.”
